That kind of explains why they suck so hard, although it certainly doesn't excuse it. I've always been baffled by Bostonians' love of soul music. In the local alt-weekly, one can take count of about half a dozen "soul dance party night" events in any given Beantown week. And that's in spite of Boston being the whitest, most-lacking-in-soooooul city on the Atlantic Seaboard! I'll give a cookie to anyone can rationally explain this phenomenon to me...
